with the source.
Follow a lot from the crate back to the parcel, see the checks that applied and verify that no record changed along the way.
From the crate
back to the parcel.
A code on the crate opens the story behind the lot, and a public ledger shows that none of it was changed along the way.

Scan the code on the crate.
Every lot leaves with a GS1 Digital Link code, the standard that retailers and importers already scan. It points to the lot, not to a brochure.
- 02
The Lot Passport opens.
Origin, the crop cycles behind the lot, the checks that applied and the documents this recipient may see. Nothing beyond what the purpose requires.
- 03
Every record leaves a fingerprint.
Each record is hashed when it is created. Only that fingerprint goes to the IOTA public ledger; the record itself stays off the ledger, with its owner.
- 04
Anyone can check nothing changed.
Recompute the fingerprint and compare it with the ledger. A match shows the record is the one written at the time; any later edit would break it.
What stands
behind a record.
Not every record carries the same weight. Each step up the ladder adds something another person can check.
- 01
Declared
A person states that something happened. Who said it, and when, stays visible.
- 02
Device-supported
Location, time and media captured by the phone back up the statement.
- 03
Rule-checked
Codex compares the record with the requirement that applied, and keeps the rule version.
- 04
Corroborated
An independent source, such as satellite imagery or a second visit, agrees with it.
- 05
Linked to an outcome
The measured result, at harvest or at delivery, returns to the season that produced it.
Requirements,
checked as you go.
Codex is AgroConform’s rule library: market, certification and regulatory requirements written as versioned checks. It checks the records as they arrive, so a gap shows up before shipment. Certifiers and authorities still make their own decisions.
Every product applied is compared with the residue limits of the market the lot is meant for, such as the EU, before harvest and again at packing.
Each treatment is checked for the crop against national product registers such as ONSSA’s, and the waiting time before harvest is tracked parcel by parcel.
Control points from GlobalG.A.P. and the EU organic regulation are mapped to the records that answer them, so an audit starts from what is already there.
The Lot Passport follows the UN Transparency Protocol model, so it can travel into the digital product passports European buyers are starting to ask for.

that matters.
A Cycle Attestation lets the farmer or the cooperative disclose only the fields a recipient needs. The recipient can still verify each one.
- 01
The bank sees the season and the repayments.
Enough to follow the season behind a loan, without the farm’s treatment list or sales.
- 02
The insurer sees the parcel and its reports.
The covered parcel, the season records and any loss report, nothing about credit.
- 03
The buyer sees treatments and volume.
What was applied and what to expect at delivery, without the farm’s finances.
